The Republic of Zambia, located in Southern Africa, is a landlocked nation. The economy of Zambia relies heavily on copper mining industry and it is also the largest industry of Zambia. But the government has been working towards diversifying the nation's economy and it intends to promote agriculture, tourism, gemstone mining and hydro-power. Other natural resources of the country include cobalt, gold, silver, zinc, lead, emeralds, coal and uranium. Main industries of the country are: copper mining and processing, foodstuffs, beverages, textiles, construction, chemicals, fertilizer and horticulture. |
